Dental Implants

Do you struggle with uncomfortable full or partial dentures? Are you missing teeth and embarrassed to smile? Dental implants are a permanent and durable restorative solution that can help you reclaim your confident, healthy smile.

Nearly 70% of adults from 35–44 years old have at least one missing tooth. If you have difficult with day-to-day activities like talking and eating, dental implants can help.

In addition to helping you achieve a confident smile, dental implants can also help to prevent some serious oral health issues. Excessive receding of the gums, tooth decay, and bone wearing from dentures can all become concerns when you’re missing even a single tooth.

If you curious abut how dental implants could change your life, ask Dr. Mandefro about scheduling your consultation.

What are Dental Implants?

Dental Implants

Dental implants are small titanium posts that serve as replacements for the root portions of missing natural teeth. Because of the biocompatible properties of titanium, dental implants fuse with the surrounding bone to become solid anchors for crowns, bridges, and even dentures.

Traditional implants involve connecting a replacement tooth to the top of a titanium post to replace a single tooth. There are various moderations for this process, which utilize bridges and dentures, depending on how many subsequent teeth you need to have replaced.

Mini dental implants are smaller titanium posts that can act as an anchor for dentures and prevent bone wearing. The top of the titanium post is a small ball, which fits into an opening on the underside of the denture, like a ball-and-socket joint. Mini implants are smaller, and are therefore less of a health concern for patients who may be worried about bone loss.

Traditional implants measure about 3.7mm, while mini implants are only 3mm. With proper maintenance and care, dental implants can last 20 years or longer. Healthy implants can prevent further bone loss, ensuring a brighter future for your dental health. If you are missing multiple teeth, implants can preserve the shape of your lips, jaw, and face.

Start-to-Finish Implant Dentistry

While many dentists can restore a dental implant (top it with a crown or bridge), not all have the ability to surgically place them in their office. Dr. Mandefro has the training and experience to both place and restore dental implants in the comfort of Chesterfield, MO, so you don’t have to schedule multiple appointments with specialists to get your implant needs met.

We provide comfortable amenities and advanced treatments so that you can spend less time in the dental chair, and more time appreciating your new smile! When you come in for your consultation, Dr. Mandefro will use 3D imaging technology to map out your mouth and new dental implants. The replacement teeth or bridges will be made to specifically fit your mouth, and match the overall color of your teeth. After a short period of time, you’ll come back for your dental implants, and Dr. Mandefro will have the entire process completed in just one visit.

Mini Dental Implants Denture Stabilization

Mini Dental Implants

Mini dental implants, or MDIs, are a great way to secure dentures that otherwise feel uncomfortable, or that slip or rub your gums. MDIs are often placed in a single visit to our office that lasts less than two hours.

The MDI system consists of four miniature titanium alloy implants that act like tooth roots, as well as a retaining fixture that is added to the base of your denture. The retaining fixture snaps onto the tops of the implants and holds your denture firmly in place, giving you a denture that feels more natural and comfortable than ever before.
